Welcome to TechPolitik. My name is Ed Oswald, and I must admit writing about politics on a regular basis is something I’ve looked forward to doing for quite awhile now.
I guess you could say this is due to the fact that over the past five years writing for several sites including BetaNews, VentureBeat, and Technologizer, one of my favorite topics has always been the intersection of technology and politics.
Starting a blog devoted to this subject only seems like a natural fit, and also seems very timely considering our current Administration. We’re likely to see a lot of movement on a variety of technology issues in the coming years, and I will endeavor here at TechPolitik to break it down to how it affects you.
Of course, while this blog will primarily focus on events in the US, politics and technology are merging elsewhere. Take for example the issue of net censorship: it’s an issue I’ve covered extensively during my time at BetaNews, and you will see a lot of it here as well.
I hope you stick with us here in the early days. We’re kind of in a “soft launch” mode where we’ll be trying out a few things until we get in the groove, so to speak.
In any case, whether you’re a technology or politics junkie, I’m sure you’ll find this an enjoyable read. Thanks for stopping by!
